we can play the statistics game two =P

one of the most annoying things I keep coming across is that people make these vain projections about what the real deal is when really, they should just sit down, listen and shut the fuck up. it's hard to acknowledge. it's hard to eat crow. but it boils down to an old theory which I just keep seeing playing itself out over and over again. education- multidisciplinary, multicultural education, including travel shows the individual completely new ways of thinking.

sorry but there are just some conversations you can only have when you're out in the middle of fucking nowhere or in the humalayas or in a mine field or in the middle of a civil war or yangshuo -- just not here. in our comfortable chairs with our comfortable screens.

this place is more than annoying. vain projections. sloppy language. everything approached with this gleeful, 'i can debate this!' sort of naivete.

I love watching my friends jumping through hoops, using every stupid ploy so that they can maintain old dynamics and talk 'down' to me.

cute but, hardly productive.

one of the first things I learned, years ago, coming back is that people 'really don't want to hear about your trip.'

they already have this nice little box they've put you in. they don't want to revise the box. acknowledge or respect the shit you've been through or the things you've learned.

nobody wants to listen.

too many precious egos.

look- don't talk down to me about the endemic racism of this country. it's 1. skewing the central point of what we were talking about 2. strawman bullshit argumentation just to feel superior 3. of course the system is fucked in this country and sure- I'd love to see the problems addressed.

But you creating your little soap box and trying to infer that I'm *blind* to some shit is just idle, vain projection. once again- you forget who worked with gang kids. who went to school in oakland.

why do you think I'm contemplating law school?

you can stop putting words in my mouth. you can stop this vain talking down to me bullshit with your straw-men.

feel free to argue away but it's not an argument. are you so brainwashed by this fucking culture that everything has to be a fucking fight for dominance? meh.

I'll happily take my wares somewhere else if this bullshit continues.
